From the age of 13, Aaron Baddeley --otherwise known as "Badds" to his fans -- dreamed of making golf his profession. Since then, the Aussie has become one of the PGA Tour's hottest young players. In 2004, Badds joined GOLF MAGAZINE as Contributing Player, where he will be offering playing tips and personal insight to life on Tour.
Born in Lebanon, New Hampshire, where his dad was chief mechanic for Mario Andretti's race team, Badds moved at the age of two to Melbourne, Australia, where he spent his childhood honing his golf skills. At 15, he was the youngest player ever to make the cut in an Australasian PGA Tour event. This young gun has joined the staff of GOLF MAGAZINE.
By his 21st birthday, he had acquired two Australian Open titles, the first as an amateur, and earned his PGA Tour card for the 2003 season. Badds has held his own against the likes of Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia, who he defeated in a playoff at the 2001 Greg Norman Holden International.
Over the course of his still-blossoming career, Badds has displayed a strong 2003 rookie season on Tour, including three top-10 finishes and a playoff loss at the 2003 Sony Open in Hawaii. Badds has also displayed a strong fashion sense on and off the course, and often wears the designs of Johan Lindeberg, whose clients include another golf fashion maven, Jesper Parnevik.
Badds also started his own golf tournament in 2003, the Aaron Baddeley Junior World Championship.
When he's not on Tour, Badds resides in Melboune, Australia with his dog Brutus.
He won his second PGA Tour tournament in early 2007 and reached the top 50 of the world rankings
