Romero's Golf Swing Highlights
The man they call 'El Gato' - the cat - because of the way he stealthily stalks and overcomes opponents. Won the Scottish Open this year at the age of 47 July 14, 2002. Oldest player ever to win this Open. Won his seventh European Tour title, the Canon European Masters, in 2000. Son of a club professional in Cordoba, where he still lives, he won his US Tour card in 1994 but returned after only one season to rejoin his many friends in Europe.
Eduardo is a close friend of fellow Argentinian, Angel Cabrera, with whom he finished second in the WGC-EMC2 World Cup in their native country in December 2000. Used his own money to help sponsor Cabrera on The European Tour - and was rewarded when his younger protege‚ won the 2001 Open de Argentina. Attributed his success in Crans-sur-Sierre to improved concentration, thanks to the study of an Indian yoga technique, Rhami Hayat. Romero is getting better with age and looks like he will be a force on the Senior Tour.
