Barack Obama A People's PresidentThe commander in chief told Golf Channel's David Feherty he's an "honest 13" -- an improvement over his reported 17-handicap when he took office that puts him in line with his Oval Office predecessors. "I think my irons are good, my drive is straight but unimpressive in length, and my putting's decent, chipping is OK," Obama told Feherty. "My sand game is terrible." According to CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller, Obama played 333 rounds as president. Obama's last round came on December 31 while on vacation in Hawaii. Knoller tweeted it was Obama's 46th round of his final year in office. Obama averaged about 41 rounds a year, but he never came close to Presidents Donald Trump (one term), Woodrow Wilson or Dwight Eisenhower, who were estimated to have played over 300 times in one term, 1,200 and 800 rounds, respectively. Tiger Woods has played golf with many of the former Presidents of America. Since they are not professionals, people were always curious about how well they actually played. Tiger Woods revealed how he felt about playing with Barack Obama on the course. Straight, Woods said when asked about how Obama played golf. "Extremely competitive. Hits it straight," added Woods. He further added that although Obama hits it hard, he doesn't hit it long enough. Woods and Obama had played together back in 2013 at Floridan National as a part of a presidential trip to Florida. Later, Obama and Woods played together once more in 2018. Now that President Obama is 60 years old he will most likely give up basketball and play a lot more golf, improve his distance and lower his handicap even more. |
