Seve's DeathSeve Ballesteros was one of professional golfs top players during a career that spanned three decades. Ballesteros captured five major championships in a 10 year span, including the Masters Tournament twice. Ballesteros was also one of the more popular golfers but was forced to call it quits when back problems plagued him in the early 1990s. He then was diagnosed with a malignant tumor, which ultimately cost him his life in 2011 at the young age of 54.One of the games most revered players, Seve went from teenage prodigy to major champion to faded, injured star within two decades. From his early 20s, he was considered one of golfs marquee names until a chronically bad back kept him from competing at his highest level. He retired from professional golf in 2007 but had long been on the fringes as a competitor. His last top 10 finish in a major was at the 1991 British Open at Royal Birkdale. In all, he won 90 titles worldwide, including a record 50 on the European tour. Beau Productions - Golf Swings |
